Each week you will find a number of regular daily activities planned at local venues. This section will list those activities so if you are stuck for something to do on a particular day, 'Weekly activities' will assist in helping you plan your week.
Sunday
- Bunnings DIY Workshops-Bunnings Kotara
Each week Bunnings hold simple DIY workshop for kids at midday. A different theme is chosen weekly and run about ½ hr in duration. Face painting commences at 11am prior to workshops so in between the kids can utilize the inside play equipment.

- Miniature Railway-Walka Water Works

The railway normally operates every Sunday (weather permitting) from 11am with a lunch break between 12pm and 1pm. Currently the railway follows the contours of the lake for 2km for approx. 20-30 minutes. Must remember to wear enclosed footwear. COST-$3 per ride

While you're having fun the kids can, too! The Coca Cola Kids Klub is a fully supervised recreation area for children aged from five to 12.
Activities include Sony Playstation, TV, videos and DVDs, games, craft, drawing and painting.
Parents must remain on Cardiff Panthers premises at all times that their children are in the Klub, and must be checked on every hour.

Every week, Fire Fly Forest café holds story time for pre-schoolers (suitable for ages 2 and up to school age) from 9.30am-10.30am. Cost is $4 per child and includes mornings tea that consists of a snack and a popper juice.

- Fire Fly Forest kids craft club- 87 Young St Carrington
Weekly craft classes explore and learn exciting, imaginative art from all cultures. A great fun environment where getting your hands dirty is an essential part of the class. It is recommended that old clothes are worn. Suitable for ages 3-12 and runs from 3.30pm-5.00pm during the school term.

Each Wednesday, (outside school holidays only) Greater Union Glendale screens a special ‘babes in arms’ session for those parents who have a squirming, gurgling, fidgeting, bawling bundle of joy who may be the most beautiful baby but not a good movie companion. Bring your prams, change mats, nappies and most importantly the little one in your life. Just pay for your admission and children under 5 are free.
NB: For the comfort of the parent and child, lights will remain dimmed and sounds levels will be reduced for the session.

A fun interactive program for parents and babies under 1. Commencing at 10.30am and finishing at 11am Books & Babies is an early literacy program specifically designed for babies 0-12 months, and their parents and carers.
Through the free, interactive program of stories and rhymes, children are encouraged to develop literacy skills from an early age. Participants receive a Books & Babies kit containing membership information, community resource information, and a selection of activity sheets used in the program. No need to book

Thursday tends to be a family day at the Fig, fit for parents with young kids, homeschoolers and anyone else that wants to be involved. Take a chance to wander the garden, pick a strawberry and taste it or get your hands dirty pulling weeds, watering gardens and just being involved in this great community project. The kids will love it! Open from 9am.

Friday
- Marlins Kid’s Club-Nelson Bay Bowling Recreation Club
Friday’s 5pm-9pm Free entry. A fully supervised fun filled evening for kids aged 3-12. Activities include face painting, basketball, Sony playstations, lucky door prizes, ball games, and hula hoops.
