The Snowman is a family-friendly Christmas concert performed with live orchestra and the animated film of The Snowman projected on the big screen. Overjoyed, James gets dressed as fast as he can, rushes downstairs and runs outside into the garden to play. He soon realises that playing on his own isn’t much fun, so he starts to build a snowman. It takes him all day but finally his snowman is finished.

The Lord Mayor’s Christmas Carols will be held at Riverstage, City Botanic Gardens on Saturday 9 December 2017. This much-loved free family event will host a variety of some of Australia’s most renowned singers and entertainers as they ignite the big stage in this joyous and magical celebration of Christmas.

SHORNCLIFFE WITH SANTA 2nd December
Departing from Roma Street station the tour will first of all travel across the Brisbane River, passing through South Brisbane and on to Yeerongpilly. Here we diverge and travel via Tennyson to Sherwood and cross the Brisbane River again to Indooroopilly. Then it’s back past the Suncorp Stadium, through Normanby and the Exhibition Grounds, passing Mayne Railway Yards (where
the trains go to bed) and continuing on to Shorncliffe. Santa will be on board with surprises for all children who are on the journey.

You’ll see The Wiggles, their Wiggly friends and dancers, Santa Claus, dancing reindeers and for the first time ever, it will snow on stage!

Variety Christmas Walk Newcastle 10th December

Santa’s Steam Special 19th November

The Richmond Vale Railway Museum’s Santa Special is an exciting event held in November every year to celebrate the joy of Christmas. Due to delays in the process of making the site safe, volunteers have been unable to complete track rehabilitation in time for the Santa Special day, which means we cannot run passenger services just yet. We will be offering both steam and diesel miniature train rides, exhibitions of model trains, face-painting and as many family activities as we can get onsite for the day.

Christmas Storytime 6th December

Join us for a special Storytime with children’s author Nancy Watson as she reads her book ‘Flossie Catches the Christmas Star’. Discover the magic of Flossie the Fairy and make your very own Christmas star.

Lake Mac Carols by Candlelight 10th December

The festivities will kick off at noon with a movie on the big screen, followed by entertainment from local schools. There will be free kids’ activities all day and an evening concert from 6.30pm. Santa will make a special appearance before the night finishes with a spectacular fireworks display at 9pm.

Newcastle Toy Run 3rd December
The Bikers for Kids Newcastle Toy Run is an annual Community Fundraising Event. It will be held on Sunday 3 December 2017 to raise funds for disadvantaged families and provide toys for kids that would otherwise go without this Christmas. Rider assembly is from 8am at Stockton for a 10am departure ride to a Community Fun Day at Wickham Park.
