What’s on for kids and families this weekend? There are plenty of events for kids and families this weekend in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth and Newcastle. We have listed some of our top events for kids and families that are weather dependant in your city below. No need to check with the weather man. We have you covered for nice and iffy weather this weekend.

SYDNEY

If the weather is fine….

  • Head to First Fleet Park on Sunday 8th April to celebrate the Children’s Festival! Children will love the outdoor activities, workshops, arts and crafts and animal farm. The highlight of the day is the Children’s Parade.

If the weather is iffy….

  • The Family Sundays: The Future at the Powerhouse Museum is a great way for kids to get involved in hands-on activities that combine art and science to create digital designs and enjoy all the family activities that the museum has to offer.

MELBOURNE

If the weather is fine….

  • Enjoy a great day out at Frederick Wachter Reserve at Autumn Fest on Sunday 8th April with live entertainment, sports, games and free activities for the whole family including your pet.

If the weather is iffy…..

  • Head to ACMI to check out the newly opened Wonderland exhibition! Fall down the rabbit hole into Wonderland, a world premiere exhibition celebrating Lewis Carroll’s timeless tale and Alice’s adventures on film.

BRISBANE

If the weather is fine…..

  • Bring the family to Festival 2018 this weekend for free world-class entertainment with a program featuring music, exhibitions, theatre, dance, film, comedy, markets and more.

If the weather is iffy…..

  • Kids are invited to participate in a drawing workshop with Anne Spudvilas at the Museum of Brisbane. Anne will guide young participants to release their creativity in an explorative and playful workshop using charcoal and paper. If this isn’t of interest join in the FREE badge making workshop.

ADELAIDE

If the weather is fine….

  • The City of Adelaide invites  families to be among the first in 29 years to step onto the former Le Cornu site at 88 O’Connell Street and celebrate a fun day out for all ages. Entertainment includes roving performers, face painters, Life Be In It activities and more.

If the weather is iffy….

  • Head to the South Australian Museum to catch Dinosaur rEvolution before it ends on the 6th May. Check out the dinosaur skeletons and bones, run your hands over the fossil casts, find out how some dinosaurs evolved into birds and enjoy triggering three animatronic dinosaurs by walking near them. 

PERTH

If the weather is fine….

  • The Subiaco Street Party is back for another year of FREE fun, festival entertainment in 2018. The Kids Quarter will be packed with plenty to keep even the littlest party animals entertained for hours with face painting, craft activities, Aussie Home Loans old school badge making, Old Macdonalds Travelling Farm WA South Franchise, Dymocks Subiaco Storytime, carnival rides, circus acts and a host of amazing eclectic buskers, including roving divas and Groovesaurus!
