Ever wanted to meet a dinosaur? The idea is intriguing, although the reality may be a little risky! Luckily, we now have virtual reality to transport us back in time to the eras when dinosaurs roamed the earth. Dino Zoo combines high tech interactive screen technologies with the latest research on dinosaur evolution to create an exhibition you can really sink your teeth into.
Dino Zoo is both entertaining and educational. Stand back and watch the action on floor to ceiling screens as enormous, realistic dinosaurs interact with the world around them. Then, get hands on with a virtual archaeological dig, extinction simulator or earth timeline, which showcases the history of the planet and its occupants over millennia.
The project combines the expertise of palaeontologists from Queensland Museum and the tech teams at QUT’s The Cube – a sophisticated interactive learning display space. On school holidays, Dino Zoo is enhanced with fossil displays and craft activities. While you’re at The Cube, take a stroll around their other STEM-focussed exhibitions and activities, including gaming and robotics presentations.
The Cube and Dino Zoo are open daily 10am-4pm. Entry is free.
