Built to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the ANZAC landing at Gallipoli in 1915, the Newcastle Memorial Walk was officially opened on the 24th April 2015.

The walk has been built parallel to part of the Bathers Way walk on Memorial Drive Newcastle and features a 160m cliff top bridge walk spanning 450m in length.

Adorning the side of the Memorial Walk at the top are steel silhouettes  listing 4000 family names of the 11,000 soldiers enlisted from Newcastle and the Hunter areas.
