A new generation of children will be entertained by Australia’s Hi-5 from today when the brand new television series premieres on Australian television. Featuring the talented new cast, the TV series will thrill young audiences with creative scripts, catchy songs and colourful segments.
Hi-5 premiered today on the Nine Network (15 May) at 9am and leads the pre-school programming on Go! Kids. It’s the 17th TV series produced by Hi-5 since the popular children’s entertainment group launched in Australia in 1998.
“It is fantastic to be returning to Australian free to air television and in particular the Nine Network, which is where we debuted our first Hi-5 TV series all those years ago,” said Julie Greene, Executive Creative Director and Executive Producer for Hi-5.
“Young audiences will love the series as they join Bailey, Courtney, Joe, Shay and Lachie in song, dance and storytelling in each episode. We have created the series to engage with young viewers at home, encouraging them to actively participate in music, movement, problem solving and verbal play,” added Julie Greene.
Highlights of the new 25 part series include a hot new song “Hi-5 Dance Off”, as well as two new segments – “The Jupsters” and “The Chatterbox”.
Since launching in Australia in 1998, Hi-5 has become one of the most recognised children’s musical groups, entertaining more than 10 million children globally with its TV shows, tours and music. The new TV Series is set to be shown globally, following its Australian premiere.
Hi-5 will be scheduled on Go! Kids Monday-Friday at 9am followed by a repeat episode in the afternoon at 2.30pm.
