The Lake Macquarie Variety Playground is a playground like no other in Newcastle.  The Lake Macquarie Variety Playground located on Speers Point Park is designed to cater for all needs of children of all ages and all abilities, to ensure that everyone can interact and play together.
Since opening the first stage of the playground in 2008, there has been many additions to the playground. Currently in the process of upgrading the park again, visitors will enjoy a new main promenade and lighting, new shelters, construction of a fenced dog park across from Walters Park featuring agility exercise equipment and other minor construction.

Visitors to the Lake Macquarie Variety Playground can currently enjoy a 9 metre spiral slide, a 12 metre climbing tower and climbing nets, a double flying fox, a maze, a bike circuits with two intersecting tracks, swings, Wheelchair accessible play boat, music and water play, a performance stage and mini amphitheatre and many more other facilities for kids to enjoy.

Make a day of it and use the picnic and BBQ facilities that are located adjacent to the play equipment or patronise Sals by the Lake Cafe where you can grab a meal or a snack when the little ones are hungry.
