Scitech is Perth’s multi award winning science museum which includes an out of this world Planetarium designed for people of all ages.

First opened in 1988, Scitech has been entertaining adults and kids from near and far increasing awareness and encouraging participation in all areas of science.

Scitech is generally aimed at kids up to the age of 12 but there is no doubt that it’s a fun day out for all ages.

There is DiscoveryLand – a designated area for 3-7 year olds which allows the younger ones to explore and play with kids around the same age. On top of this there is an interactive puppet theatre that runs super fun plays and dances 3 – 4 times a day and a science theatre designed more for the older kids to get their hands dirty with science!

Then we get to the Planetarium. One word for this is – WOW! Now please be advised that children under the age of 4 are not permitted into the planetarium. But for those that this does not affect – I highly highly recommend checking this out. With narrated shows being held every 1-2 hours, they are fun, informative and absolutely mind blowingly spectacular! It is guaranteed you will leave knowing something new about our vast galaxy and they strongly encourage audience participation when it comes to question time. A fantastic show not to be missed.

Please note: There is currently no cafe facilities in Scitech although there is a cafe located just outside and they do encourage you to bring your own food and drink in which can be enjoyed inside Scitech in the dining area.

Hot Tip:  There is 2 hours free parking undercover at City West and it’s also a free transit area on the train as it’s only one stop from the Perth City station.
